GALLAGHER, HIGGINS AND MCGUINNESS ALL POLLING WELL IN DONEGAL BUT MICHAEL D LOOKING LIKE NINTH PRESIDENT

first_imgWith just over two hours worth of boxes opened in the Presidential election it looks like a three horse race between Sean Gallagher, Michael D Higgins and Martin McGuinness for the Donegal vote. The atmosphere at the count centres in the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny and the Finn Valley Centre in Ballybofey is very subdued and nothing like a general election. The overall turn-out for the two Donegal constituencies has been put at around 45%. To date there has been 34 of the 123 boxes open in Donegal North East.To date Martin McGuinness is polling very well with many of those boxes coming form the Inishowen area where he was expected to poll well is on 33%.Behind him is Sean Gallagher on 28% and Michael D Higgins is on 21%.The shock so far has been how poor Dana has done in Donegal where she was expected to poll well. The former Eurovision winner however certainly won’t be a winner today with just 7% so far.In Donegal South West Sean Gallagher is topping the poll with a third of the boxes open and sitting on 30%.He is closely followed by Michael D Higgins on 28% while Martin McGuinness is on 22%.EndsGALLAGHER, HIGGINS AND MCGUINNESS ALL POLLING WELL IN DONEGAL BUT MICHAEL D LOOKING LIKE NINTH PRESIDENT was last modified: October 28th, 2011 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img
