first_img1 Fernando Torres in action for AC Milan Former Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has backed Fernando Torres to shine at AC Milan despite his stuttering start to life in Serie A.Torres joined AC Milan from Chelsea on a two-year loan deal during the summer, but he has managed just one goal in nine appearances since making the switch.The Spaniard’s move to Milan echoes that of Crespo, who also left Chelsea for the San Siro back in 2004 after being deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho.Crespo endured a tough start to life in Milan, but the former Argentina international managed to turn things around and he has backed Torres to do the same.“If Inzaghi is convinced, I still think it is possible,” Crespo told Corriere dello Sport.“Even I arrived at Milan on loan from Chelsea and I was not in a great shape. The only thing I focused on was to work hard and utilise the opportunities that Carlo Ancelotti provided me.“At the end of the season I scored 18 goals for the club.”last_img
