Miss New Jersey Pageant Parade Set for Wednesday on Boardwalk

first_imgThe annual Miss New Jersey Pageant Parade will travel the Ocean City Boardwalk between Sixth and 14th Streets starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Miss New Jersey Pageant events kick off on Wednesday (June 10) with the annual Ocean City Boardwalk parade at 7 p.m.The parade starts at Sixth Street and travels down the boardwalk to 14th Street.All 28 contestants will show their shoes and be dressed to salute the parade’s theme “Pages through the Ages.” Cierra Kaler Jones, reigning Miss New Jersey, will lead the parade.The forecast calls for a clear night with temperatures in the high 60s and a light southwest wind at parade time.Ocean City resident Devon Vanderslice and Dana Piccoli of Beesleys Point, two former Miss Ocean City winners, will compete for the title. There will also be numerous marching groups and special musical attractions in the parade. Gary Sakas, the reigning Mr. Mature America, will be a special parade guest along with Miss Ocean City Kendall Coughlin, Junior Miss Ocean City Megan Keenan and Little Miss Ocean City Hope Aita.The 28 Miss New Jersey contestants are vying to represent New Jersey in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City in September. They will compete for three nights before a winner is crowned.Former Miss New Jersey Dena Blizzard will emcee the pageant. A TV and radio personality, Blizzard is now touring with her hilarious show, “One Funny Mother.”The Miss New Jersey preliminaries will be held June 11 and 12, with the finals and crowning on June 13 at the Ocean City Music Pier.
