UK proptech key influencers revealed in latest ‘power list’

first_imgThe Negotiator’s Head of Content Nigel Lewis has been placed fifth in the annual Top Ten list of proptech ‘influencers’ within the property industry, one of several journalists, consultants and property industry figures to make the grade this year. The others are Graham Norwood of EAT and Stuart Stone of business website The Morning Advertiser. The Top Ten also includes Esther McVey, who until recently led the policy charge on proptech within government before stepping down as a housing minister in February. There are also a raft of proptech business leaders including Alex Edds from JLL, Curran Mckay of RentProfile, Rajeev Nayyar of Fixlo and James Dearlsey of Unissu (left).“It is always nice to appear in lists of this sort – though I have no idea how they are really curated – but are always a bit of a vanity metric. I am just relieved that Graham and I are more influential than Esther McVey MP,” says Dearsley. The list is fourth edition of the Tyto Tech 500 Power List which ranks individuals by country and tech sector.Globally Sir Richard Branson is the No.1 ranked tech influencer.“We started our research for this years’ lists in fall 2019 so this report spans and reflects times that we’d now consider as ‘normal’ – as well as quite a few months which have been completely dominated by the pandemic,” says Tyto MD Brendon Craigie (left).“As a result, this year’s list has unquestionably been influenced by the events and conversations surrounding the pandemic. For example, we’ve never seen as many influencers within the governmental and academic space, especially in the UK.”Tyto does not publish how the lists are assembled, but it is believed to be a mixture of online articles, social media activity and industry endorsements/recommendations.The full UK proptech Top 10 is:Graham Norwood, Editor, Estate Agent TodayJames Dearsley, Co-founder, UnissuEsther McVey MP, Former Minister of State for HousingStuart Stone, Features Reporter, The Morning AdvertiserNigel Lewis, Head of Content, The NegotiatorCurran McKay, Commercial Lead, RentProfileJames Owusu, Co-founder, Cubic LeaseAlex Edds, Director of Innovation, JLLRajeev Nayyar, Managing Director, FixfloSebastian Abigail, Vice President, ConveneTyto proptech influencers Nigel Lewis James Dearsley unissu December 3, 2020Nigel LewisWhat’s your opinion?
